So it’s that time of the year again, and to celebrate this valentines day I thought I’d let you know of my favourite (well, only) love based books. These lovely reads pave an honest response to the state of love in a modern world while keeping a comical and amusing tone throughout.
Modern Romance – Aziz Ansari
I gained this book a little while ago, and read it on my journeys to and from either side of the country whilst visiting Joanna (my lovely girlfriend). I can’t really say what I was expecting before reading, I knew Aziz from his stand up comedy, and later his incredible Netflix show “Master of None”. Once I began reading I was struck by the huge amount of detail in the statistics shown throughout – it was incredible. A top of this, a massive history of how people have dated and how human connection has changed throughout the years is weaved from start to finish. It’s great to pick up and put down – reading little chapters at a time.
This Modern Love – Will Darbyshire
This was given to me by Joanna after I kept stealing her copy. Again, this is another lovely book just to dip into sometimes when you fancy getting your faith in humanity restored a little bit. This Modern Love is an eclectic store of crowdsourced letters between partners. Split into three sections; Before, During and After, this collection will fill your heart with hope, draw a smile on your face and bring you to tears. It’s the perfect coffee table book.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and consider maybe giving the books a little read for your self, all the links to pick them up are below!
